What Kind of Appetite do you have?

It is important to understand what kind of use and activities that you'll perform on net
1. Passive :
If you occasionally use Internet for checking mails once in a while or some Facebook  and browsing then I'll call you a passive user. Most senior citizens or people not so at ease with this weird thing called computer will come under this.
In this case, its good to go for limited data plans with sufficient net speed not to test your patience. In India 1 mbps ,5 or 10 GB per month is more than enough.2 mbps will be good if you occasionally see videos.
Its foolish to go unlimited and waste ur money.

2.Speedmaniac:
If slow speed is worse than slow death for you and high speed gives you a high better than cocain, focus on speed and you can compromise on downloading limit. eg. Instead of 1 Mbps unlimited or 1Mbps 50GB/mo go for 4 Mbps 20 GB/mo .

2.Moderate -Heavy:
If you love watching videos regularly ,downloading movies and speed also matters then you are moderate-heavy user and you should go for plans with decent speed but high data limit.

4.Pure downloader
1. If you are only going to download stuff from torrent and and slow speed is fine and you will keep ur PC on through the night for downloading movies then a slow speed plan worth unlimited data would be fine choice.

5.Professional:
If you are using internet for professional use yourself or for your small company where few people might use it together prefer high speed and decent data limit of anywhere between 50 to 100 GB/Month. I'll speak more on this topic in other blog.

So, first identify your needs and then go for a good plan. Don't blindly follow ISP's marketing schemes where you might not necessarily benefit.

Note: The above examples are personal opinions and their role as a good example varies with place and time.
Please select a plan relatively cost effective in your area.
